12-year-old Helena has difficulty coping with the changes happening within and around her, as she emerges from childhood to her teens. In her frustration, Helena finds solace in her music and doodle drawings while pushing everyone away. On the day she is supposed to go on a school trip, she sees an opportunity to run away. She ends up on the local volcano. The trip to the top, however, does not go as easily as expected and on the way, she experiences in flashbacks, crucial moments from the past year of her life while trying to find the strength to let go of her childhood and move on into the unknown territory of teen life.
