14-year-old Vera just moved to a new, small town together with her mom, dad, and little brother Alfred, where she is about to start school. She is reluctant since her family has moved multiple times, but the first day at the new school goes pretty well – there is a boy, Benjamin, that seems like a possible friend, and there is a nice girl, Rosa, that she makes eye contact with. At home her parents are acting weird, and Vera prepares for an awkward conversation about the birds and the bees…but her parents have another topic in mind.
